RWC 2015, Sochi 2014, Innsbruck 2012 and America’s Cup technology leaders gather in Doha
A unique, high level gathering taking place on 8-9 May in Doha, will bring together CIOs and CTO’s from major event organising committees and federations. The only conference internationally to cover technology implementation and delivery for sports events, Sportech 2012 will provide a forum for discussion on the pioneering, new technologies that can help meet the future demands of major sports events.
The conference reflects the revolutionary 2022 World Cup objectives where the world’s most innovative, up-to-the-minute technologies will be introduced and are currently in the process of development for the stadia as well as the supporting infrastructure.
Sportech’s A-list speaker line-up will feature lessons learnt and development updates from recent and upcoming major events. 2015’s Rugby World Cup CEO, Paul Vaughan will reflect on last year’s World Cup in NZ, focusing on lessons learnt and the strategy in place for 2015. Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games’ Head of Communications, Georg Spazier will share his case study on the first ever Youth Winter Olympic Games and how the Games engaged the youth and capitalised on social media and mobile aps, including the results of the innovative USB key, the Yogger. “It’s a great honour for me to be speaking at Sportech and I am looking forward to making new contacts and presenting Innsbrucks new media experiences during the 1st ever Winter Youth Olympic Games” commented Georg Spazier.
Paul and Georg will be joined by Slobodan Delic, Director of Venue Technology Management and Results Services from Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, Rob Hunt, General Manager of Venue Technology Services, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, as well as Stan Honey, Director of Technology for the Americas Cup Event Authority amongst others.
Technology demands the largest budget within a LOC. Every major international sport event requires multimedia information and communication technologies to ensure cutting edge representation in broadcasting, TV graphics and sport presentation, as well as the more traditional but constantly updating timing and scoring fundamentals.
