SRG SSR get Swiss rights to Sochi and Rio Games
Schweizerische Radio- und Fernsehgesellschaft (SRG SSR) have secured the Swiss media rights to 2014 and 2016 Olympic Games.
SRG SSR have procured a package from Geneva-based Sportfive, who were awarded the rights to both Games in 40 European territories by the IOC. A long-standing Olympic broadcaster, SRG SSR will have the TV, online, radio and mobile rights to all events at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, and will air coverage of both in German, French, Italian and Romansh.
Sportfive International chief executive Shaila-Ann Rao said: "We are thrilled to sign this deal in Switzerland and are confident that SRG SSR will provide excellent and extensive coverage for fans throughout the country. From our Geneva head office, we shall look forward to enjoying the live broadcasts."
