Melbourne Rebels team up with Michelin

Australian rugby union side RaboDirect Melbourne Rebels has announced French tyre manufacturer Michelin as its new shorts sponsor for the next three years.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, regarding the sponsorship Rebels chief executive Steve Boland said “Michelin have made a significant investment” in the Super Rugby side.
 
Added Boland: “The Rebels aim to attract the best talent both on and off the field, which is why this partnership is such a perfect fit for us. Michelin is an international brand that is clearly committed to rugby union and we look forward to building a strong relationship with Michelin.”

Thierry Martin, managing director of Michelin Australia, said: “Participating in sport develops qualities that are essential to success, including dedication, diligence, team spirit and discipline. We believe that partnering with the RaboDirect Rebels will allow us, as a company and as individuals, to learn from these attributes.”
 
“The values of the club are not just focused on performances on the field, but about becoming better people. Their five core values of respect, excellence, balance, team-first ethos and leadership are values that we share,” added Martin.
