Glamorgan secure Swalec shirt sponsorship
Swalec has become a shirt sponsor of Cardiff-based Glamorgan Cricket for the 2012 season.
The Welsh energy supplier, which already holds the naming rights to the Glamorgan's home stadium, will have its logo appear on the back of the team's white and coloured shirts in all county competitions this season. Swalec is heavily involved in sponsorship throughout Welsh sport and is also a partner of the Welsh Rugby Union.
Glamorgan Cricket sales director Pete Grzonka said: "We are pleased that we have secured partnership with Swalec - a brand which is extremely well-known to communities across Wales. We are excited to be working with Swalec and look forward to building the relationship during the season. We are working on some very exciting ideas which we hope to announce in the near future."
John Petrie, the head of sponsorship for Swalec, added: "We are delighted to partner with Glamorgan Cricket. We are proud to support our local sporting teams and the Glamorgan Cricket sponsorship for the next year is an exciting prospect. This relationship sits neatly within our sponsorship portfolio and further demonstrates Swalec's commitment to actively contribute to the communities in which we operate. We look forward to working with Glamorgan to boost cricket across Wales. Swalec wishes everyone at Glamorgan Cricket and its supporters a successful season."
Glamorgan have struggled in the opening weeks of the 2012 English cricket season, losing their opening three games in the second division of the LV= County Championship.
