Brad Sims joins Cleveland Cavaliers
Brad Sims has been appointed to the position of senior vice president and chief revenue officer at the Cleveland Cavaliers National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise.
Sims will join the franchise directly from the NBA, where he was vice president, team business development, team marketing and business operations.
Sims will be responsible for overseeing every facet of the Cavaliers' business platform. He will lead ticket sales, the database marketing and CRM teams, arena suite sales and services, corporate partnerships, and box office and ticket operations.
He will also work within those business areas at the Cavaliers ownership group's other properties - the AHL Lake Erie Monsters, the NBA D-League's Canton Charge, and the AFL's Cleveland Gladiators.
At the NBA, Sims was the account manager for five teams, working closely with the Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Hornets and the Cavaliers.
Sims has already begun his new role and has made his first appointments; Mike Maleski has returned to the franchise as vice president of digital sales, marketing and operations, having left his role as director of new media sales in October 2011, while Nic Barlage has been promoted to the role of vice president of ticket sales and services.
Sims has a degree in communications from the University of California, San Diego.
